It has been more than 20 years since I first visited Irian Jaya/West Papua. At the time I was the first white woman that the children of the village of Alobaga had ever seen. It was a journey into another world. So I was very lucky to be sent back to Irian Jaya along with author and musician Klaus Erharter—magazine Terra Mata gave us the mission to find out how the people there have changed.
